Obsessed Girlfriend

Someday, I'm going to have a girlfriend
who would obsess about where I go
what I'm doing
& I would see some stranger in a hat & shades
taking pictures of me as I conduct my business.
I wouldn't dare ask why she hired a P.I.

She would obsess about my friends
& how many of them are girls
& question them as she watches their eyes.
Never believing them when they say they don't want me.
I'll see fires burning in her eyes
when one of them gives me a hug
or even smile at me.
Everybody would see that she's just faking her kindness to them.

My friends would tell me that she'll have to go.
I wouldn't dare tell her to pack her stuff
& just get out & be gone.
She would look me straight in my eyes
& doubt every word I say when I say
"I went to the grocery store
& she was in the milk section."
Then she would simply just walk out of the room.

One night, it would be 9pm and she's 4 hours late.
After having my TV dinner, I'll stare out the window
watching the streets for any sign of her,
wondering if something bad had happened.
Or did she finally leave town to leave me forever?
After I call her mom & some of her friends
as to find out her where abouts -
She'll walk calmly into the room with blood on her hands -
I would never dare ask why.

Mel, when you said it sounded kind of needy, i am assuming that you meant that the narrator sounded needy, so that what I'm basing the following statement on. The narrator don't want to be alone again, that itself should be obvious by the "I wouldn't dare ask..." He don't want to be alone again so he wanted her to stay no matter what. That kind of devotion to someone is just as scary as the girlfriend's obsession to not want to lose him to anyone. These two people are scared of losing each other. The narrator's actions was not as quite as extreme as the girlfriend's obviously. His worries was not as extreme either. I think the narrator needed to sound needy to give a good idea of what's going on, because the girlfriend was just as needy also.
I should show you all the picture I've found last night that inspired it but, I won't. Thanks for your comment.
